About Us IBS Research Appeal is a registered charity (Registered Charity No. 292475) based at the Central Middlesex Hospital NHS Trust, London, United Kingdom, and dedicated to supporting research into Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Proceeds from sales of Professor Silk's IBS Books, IBS Bulletin and from donations go to fund further IBS research at the Central Middlesex Hospital.

Making A Purchase You may use this web site to make on-line, or off-line (postal) purchases. For on-line purchasing please use the "shopping basket" system to make your selections and then proceed to the "checkout" to make payment by credit card using our secure system. Remittance Terms For on-line credit-card purchases (we accept Visa and Mastercard) you may chose to pay in Pounds Sterling, US Dollars or Euros. Please note - your payment will be made to us in Pounds Sterling and will be converted from your own bank's local currency at the exchange rate prevailing at the time that the transaction is processed. Shipping And Handling All orders are dispatched in plain, non-transparent wrappers. We use Second Class Post in the UK and Priority Air-Mail for countries outside the UK.

Delivery Schedule We intend to post your order within five working days of receipt (internet credit card orders). Back Orders We do not usually accept orders for items that are not in stock. If we have accepted an order for an item or items that we cannot supply we will e-mail you and offer to either refund your payment or supply alternative goods to the same value, at your choice.

Tax Charges Taxes applied are in accordance with our understanding of EU and international tax law. All items are zero-rated for VAT in the UK and European Union. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to declare any goods purchased for tax purposes in the country of receipt. E & OE.

Credit Card Security IBS Research Appeal uses a third-party payment service provider (PSP) to handle credit card transactions. None of the credit card information is visible to the charity. The credit card information is transferred from your browser to the PSP using a high level of encryption and is held securely on their computers in encrypted form. At no time is your credit card number stored in an insecure device or on insecure media as a result of shopping with IBS Research Appeal Personal contact details that you impart as part of the purchasing process, to allow us to fulfill your order, are stored securely by our order fulfillment partners.   Your Right to Cancel You may cancel your order at any time until we have despatched the goods. After that please use the 'returns' method described below in our 'Guarantee' section. To cancel an order please e-mail booksales@ibsresearchupdate.org quoting your Merchant's cart ID and WorldPay Digital Receipt ID (given at the time of purchase), and stating clearly that you wish to cancel the order.

Guarantee and Returns Policy We want you to be delighted with any purchases that you make from IBS Research Appeal. In the event that you are dissatisfied with any book or magazine that you have bought from us, then you can return it, in its original condition, within 30 days, and we will refund the purchase price. If you are returning a book or magazine due to a mistake by the charity, or because it has been poorly printed, bound or packaged (causing damage) we will also refund the original delivery charges and your shipment costs in returning it to us. Otherwise you will be responsible for all of those costs. To return an item Wrap the item securely, enclosing a note to tell us why you are returning it, and the original or copy of the delivery advice note, and send to the address below.
